This panel allows you to create an Xllerate™ program worksheet.
Enter the name you want to call your program worksheet in Box 1. |
You will use the remaining boxes (Boxes 2-4) to indicate the actions needed to retrieve the data you want to work with.
These actions might include: to open a workbook (see Box 2); to select a worksheet (performed in Box 3 drop down); or to select a cell (performed in Box 4 drop down). |

The "Standard Programming Panel" is the main access point to program functions.
The categories are similar to the ones found on the Excel® main toolbar (File, Edit, Insert, etc.)
Just click on a category. For example, to sort data, you would click on the "Data" category. |
Step 2 would be to select an activity.
Here is a summary of the different "Data" activities. |
If the 'Subtotal' activity was selected, then the next step would be to complete the information necessary to subtotal the data.
Here is an example of a completed panel.
You will notice, the information needed is the same information needed to complete the Excel® subtotal panel. |
Once you have completed the information on the "Step 3" panel, the "code line" is written back to your program worksheet.
Row 4 corresponds with the Step 3 panel shot above.
To run the program, you would click the "running man" icon. |

Obviously, the program presented above is a very simple program. Yet, it demonstrates how easy it is to write your own programs.
Virtually any Excel® task may be automated using Xllerate™. |
